Lower Northeast District Plan to be presented to Planning Commission Tuesday

One of many things on the Philadelphia City Planning Commission's agenda Tuesday is a review of the Lower Northeast District Plan.

Residents of Frankford, Northwood, Summerdale, Lawncrest, Oxford Circle and Castor Gardens got a preview last week of the plan that will be presented at the afternoon meeting in Center City.

The draft is the result of three public meetings and the work of city planners to determine what the involved neighborhoods could benefit from in the short-and long-term, all under the umbrella of Philadelphia2035, the city's comprehensive plan.

Ideas for the Lower Northeast District include more green space, better connectivity of the neighborhoods and beyond through public transit, and the revitalization of certain business corridors.

But for those planning to go, keep in mind this isn't the only topic on the agenda. An update to the Central District Plan will also be presented, and four other topics are also up for discussion. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. on the 18th floor of 1515 Arch St.
