PlanPhilly Year in Review: 2013

The next 10 days will bring you PlanPhilly's Year in Review as it pertains to the the built environment in Philadelphia.

As we did last year, we will head to the photo and video archives and began reviewing coverage in order to produce Real to Reel, an audio and visual re-creation of 2013.

We'll give you more than a week's worth of reflection about the top stories that appeared in PlanPhilly through the lens of each beat reporter.

Beginning today and running through the last two weeks of the year, we will highlight reporting by Jared Brey (development and zoning), Christine Fisher (transportation), JoAnn Greco (design, architecture and public space), Patrick Kerkstra (land use), Kellie Patrick Gates (planning, casinos and the waterfront) and  Alan Jaffe (preservation).

And that is not all. The PlanPhilly blog Eyes on the Street, edited by Ashley Hahn, will produce its own look back at 2013 in the form of a wish list, top stories list, and year in photos from our Flickr pool.

So please kick back and enjoy. We didn't include everything that was covered but these are some of our favorite highlights. If you think we missed something especially significant, give me an email shout-out.

And, lastly, a hearty thank you to the planners, developers, politicians, concerned citizens, academics, preservationists, architects, real estate attorneys and archaeologists we covered in 2013.
