Friday Exchange is something new for SMPS Philadelphia. There will be four sessions this year led by experts in the topic to be discussed. Attendees can submit questions or ideas related to the topic beforehand or the morning of. The hope is that a real discussion will take place and ideas will flow freely. Notes from the meeting will be distributed to all attendees.

If you ask a group of people to define Business Development you will get an assortment of answers. Via a discussion led by seasoned Business Developer, Sharyn Yorio, SMPS Philadelphia invites you to discuss how BD is the creation of long term value for your firm from a variety of avenues.

Topics will include:

  • What’s different about business development, marketing, and selling
  • Best practices for a successful BD effort
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of your current BD efforts
  • How to strengthen your firm’s business development strategy
  • Effective solutions to challenging business development situations

Join us for this round table style, peer-to-peer exchange of wisdom, lessons learned, and best practices. Attendance will be limited to 25 and a light breakfast will be provided.

Director of Client Development, VJ Associates

Sharyn Yorio, FSMPS, CPSM is Director of Client Development for VJ Associates focusing on the Northeast region. Sharyn has over 25 years of experience in marketing and business development. She has taught the Principles of Marketing and Business Development at Pratt Institute and New York University as an Adjunct Professor. She is a past president of the New York and New Jersey Chapters. She has spoken for numerous Chapters on a variety of topics. Sharyn is a mentor, graduate of SMPS U and a Chapter Champion for Southeast Louisiana Chapter.
