A special Rain Check workshop featuring sign language services will take place at the Pa. Horticultural Center's headquarters in Center City.
Rain Check workshops are the first step to getting a free rain barrel or discounted green tool, including downspout planters, rain gardens, and permeable pavement. The Philadelphia Water Department offers free and discounted stormwater improvements to manage runoff pollution and educate residents about the need for the City's green infrastructure program, Green City, Clean Waters.
Residents can learn more about the program and register for the workshop by visiting the Rain Check site. A quick quiz with a few simple questions can help determine what green projects would work best on your property.
Residents who build a rain garden, de-pave a driveway or refinish a back patio with rain-absorbing hardscaping improvements can save you up to $2,000 and are connected with certified contractors. Learn more at www.PWDRainCheck.org
